Poster Design and Advertising

Danileigh Advertising.
While working for the Arts Council of Wilson, I had the opportunity to design advertisements for a Danileigh concert. Her performance in Wilson was a huge deal because larger rising artists usually do not visit smaller towns. The Arts Council advertises with both print and social media, so I came up with an entire package of designs. The designs were for print, facebook, instagram, and a screen graphic for television. The images that I worked with were sent by one of Danileigh's managers, and all designs had to be approved by Arts Council staff and Danileigh's staff. This concert was targeted towards college aged students, so my goal was to make designs that were interesting, colorful, and whimsical to catch the eye of an expressive generation of students. Therefore, I was inspired by the use of bright and bold colors in modern design.

The Boykin Series 23
Every year the Arts Council of Wilson hosts a series of concerts called "The Boykin Series" named after the Boykin Center Theatre in which they are held. My job was to make posters for all of these events. This body of work had very specific guidelines. The posters had to follow a format that generally included the arts council's header at the top, one image sent from the artist(s), and the arts partners listed at the bottom. With each poster, I added small details to distinguish one design from the other. For example Little Texas followed a distressed, country theme and The Barefoot Movement followed a subtle winter theme since the performance was close to Christmas.
